Mentors are caring community members who invest in a student’s personal and academic success. Each mentor meets with one student for 30-60 minutes each week throughout the academic year. While mentors can tutor their students, they focus on inspiring their students to develop new interests, explore career possibilities and reach their full potential.
Because mentors focus on the individual needs of students, there is no set curriculum that all mentors follow. Austin Partners in Education does however encourage mentors to seek out resources throughout the school year that will assist them in addressing the challenges their students are facing.
